Pursue Cuban Studies at a university that houses the largest archive dedicated to Cuban materials outside of Cuba itself.
The Cuban Heritage Collection (or CHC) is the largest repository of materials dedicated to Cuba outside of Cuba itself, and the largest archive of the Cuban diaspora in the world. Housed in the Goizueta Pavilion of the Otto Richter Library, the collection offers unparalleled educational and research opportunities for Cuban Studies students at the University of Miami. Students in the Cuban Studies Program will visit the collection as part of their courses and may also pursue internship opportunities at the CHC for credit.
The Collection is also home to fellowship programs that bring established scholars and Ph.D. students to the University of Miami to conduct research and engage with the university community. For example, the Goizueta Foundation Graduate Fellowship Program and the Roberto C. Goizueta Distinguished Presidential Residence Program enrich Cuban Studies at the University of Miami by providing undergraduates opportunities to interact with emerging and leading scholars in the field.
